LICM Executive Vice-President Richard Arcari Dies at 69
LICM Executive Vice-President Richard Arcari passed away on May 23, 2008 due to complications from a heart attack. He was 69.
Richard Arcari served as the league's Executive Vice-President and Treasurer since 2004. Prior to this assignment, VP Arcari served as LICM's President for 16 years. In addition to his posts with LICM, Richard had served as an officer for both the Metro NY Association and Greater NY Sandlot Athletic Alliance.
During President Arcari's tenure, LICM grew from approximately 20 teams to its current level of over 50 teams. His presidency was characterized by its efficient organization and administration which provided a business-oriented approach to operations. That approach, coupled with his professionalism, propelled LICM from an unknown local entity to a well-respected national program.
Richard Arcari will always be remembered for his untiring efforts towards the betterment of amateur baseball.
