LICM Launches Supplemental Rainout Notification System

Note:  The announcement below does not change LICM rainout procedures; teams are still required to contact the League Commissioner and opposing teams by telephone when games are canceled due to weather conditions.

LICM is pleased to announce that it has launched an automated supplemental notification system when games are canceled due to weather conditions.  Scheduled games for the current date and following day that are set to status "RAIN" by the League Commissioner will automatically appear on the Game Status page; a numerical count of games canceled will also appear on the LICM hompage next to the Game Status link.  You may have noticed a different look to these pages in recent days as a result of this enhancement.

Beginning June 11, the notification system has been upgraded to generate automated e-mails regarding the game cancellation to the team managers participating in the scheduled game, League Commissioner and Umpire-in-Chief.  While the automated e-mails will contain notification that the game has been canceled, team managers are still required to contact the League Commissioner and opposing managers by telephone regarding the cancellation.  The new notification system does not replace LICM's current rainout procedures; it serves as a secondary notification system.

Please note that notification e-mails for teams will only be sent to team managers (players and other interested parties will not be included).  Team managers may forward the notification e-mails at their discretion.

If there are any questions regarding the notification system, please contact Commissioner John Tunney.
